Tree, size group 7

Strong upright branches and interesting bark.

Resistant but not immune to Dutch Elm disease.

Leaf:
Simple, alternate, oblique, rounded
Stay green until late autumn, turn purple, then fall

Fruit: Samara in clusters early autumn

Bark:
Peels in rounded patches
Tan, brown
Fine texture

Cultivars:
'Across Central Park'
'D. B. Cole' (Compact)
'Drake' (fast growing, gracefully semi-pendulous)
