3 to 6 inch long opposite, palmately compound leaves
Usually 5 leaflets (may have up to 7) 4 to 6 inches long, dark green and glabrous above
Upright cluster of red tubular flowers, cluster 4 to 7 inches long, appear in spring
Attracts hummingbirds and bees
