Flowers: Pale pink middle to late summer, obscured by foliage

Stems: Stellate hairs, white against purple stems
Petioles underside green purple above

Foliage: Medium green, turns purple/yellow in late autumn
Leaf: simple, opposite,elliptic to ovate, acuminate apex, cuneate base

Fruit: Light purple berries in axillary clusters; small and striking due to color

Issues: Requires pruning due to rank growth and winter dieback
