Family: Celastraceae
Shrub, size group 5, deciduous
Broadly globos with horizontal branching, slow growing

Used in borders, massing as a screen and hedge
Subject to occasional scale.

Leaves:
Simple, opposite to sub-opposite, serrulate margin
Medium green, bright neon red in autumn, fades to shades of pink

Branches are stratifid with corky wings on ridges

Fruit:
Capsule are lobed, open to show scarlet arils covering red berry:
