Deciduous or semi-evergreen vine, groundcover

Geographic origin: China, Korea Japan

Use: screen (with support), groundcover

Fine textured vine, climbs rapidly

Leafs: alternate, palmately compound, orbicular
5 to 7 leaflets, ovate to oblong, entire margin, apes e-marginate, cuneate base
Dark green, fine textured

Flowers: small, purple, NOT really showy
Cultivar 'Leucantha' has white flowers in axillary racemes

Fruits: Purplish pods open to show black seeds

Twigs rough, glabrous (not pubescent)

No serious pests

Likes full sun
